Tom Harrington (1946 - 2024) was an avid photographer, capturing nostalgic moments that portray nature's quiet moments, the beauty of forgotten farms, buildings and things, and the places that make the Pacific Northwest beautiful and special.
His daughters are proud to display his great work at local restaurants, coffee shops, and gathering locations as a way to honor and remember him, and for others to enjoy his art.
Any profits from the purchases of his photography will be donated to youth photography & youth basketball non-profit programs.
In honor of their father’s legacy, daughters Kelly and Shannon are bringing Thomas Mark Harrington's photography to local shops and restaurants, sharing his artistic vision and the beauty he captured through his lens. This initiative serves as a heartfelt tribute to a man who quietly left an imprint on this world via his art, photography, and poetry.
Tom was a talented photographer and poet whose artistic spirit captured the world around him. While he never had his own photography exhibits during his life, his daughters know how honored and proud he would be that they are carrying on his legacy in this manner, and keeping his art alive.
Born in 1945 in Pontiac, Michigan, also spending time in California, West Virginia, Ohio and Arizona, and living most of his life in the Seattle area, he found joy in exploring the countryside, using his lens to immortalize the simple yet profound moments of life. He loved taking long drives out into the countryside and was able to capture the beauty in nature, as well as places that had been forgotten to time with his trusted camera. His unique ability to blend photography with heartfelt poetry brought his images to life, showcasing his deep appreciation for nature and history.
Beyond his creative pursuits, Tom was a devoted father, uncle, brother, and friend. He passionately supported his favorite sports teams, including the University of Michigan, Washington State Cougs, and the Seattle Seahawks, often cheering loudly from his living room. His career in high-end menswear reflected his sharp sense of style and professionalism, while his time coaching middle school basketball and volunteering in the Sheriff's Posse, demonstrated his commitment to his community.
Tom's legacy is rooted in the connections he fostered throughout his life. A true friend to many, he had an incredible ability to make people laugh and see the lighter side of life, often sharing the humorous wisdom, "Here's another fine mess I've gotten myself into!"
Survived by his two beloved daughters, Kelly and Shannon, and a loving family, Tom's greatest joy was being 'Dad.' He often shared stories of his daughters with pride, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he met.
This website serves as a tribute to Tom's artistic journey, inviting you to explore the beauty he captured. As a reminder to cherish every moment, we share one of his favorite quotes: "The problem is, you THINK you have time." - Buddha.
Tom's legacy will inspire us all to appreciate the art of life and the moments we hold dear.
We'd love to hear from you!
